Dani Speegle to Champion Women Empowerment at First Saudi Arabia Sports Expo

At the upcoming inaugural Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) Expo in Saudi Arabia, CrossFit athlete Dani Speegle is scheduled to serve as the keynote speaker.

As a reflection of positive societal change taking place in the country, Speegle will lead a panel entitled: “Women’s Empowerment – How to Overcome Obstacles and Reach Your Goals” on 20 May.

The SFA, a department of the country’s Ministry of Sports, is the organization hosting the conference. Its goal is to revitalize the nation by fostering wellness and a love of movement.

The gathering supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, a ground-breaking plan for economic and social reform that is opening up the nation to the rest of the world. SFA Expo, the nation’s first of its kind, also introduces international brands and properties to the country’s comparatively untapped sports market.

“The SFA Expo is the first event of its kind in the country, and when I was invited to speak on a women’s empowerment panel alongside other strong ladies from the sports world, I was excited at the opportunity to play a small part in creating more positive change in the lives of women and society on the other side of the globe,” said Dani.

“Inspiring girls to be resilient and work hard to achieve their goals in whatever they want to do in life is an important conversation that I’m honored to be a part of.”

With CrossFit as her platform, Dani has been on a mission to make a positive impact beyond the sport – having also recently launched her “Girls Who Eat” campaign. She has received support from all over the world for her call to alter the perception of women, including outmoded beauty standards and preconceived notions of their potential in both athletics and in life.

Earlier in the day, she will also conduct a CrossFit class or demonstration, building on the huge interest that has been growing in Saudi Arabia over the past few years for both men and women in the sport.
