Grizzlies’ Ja Morant Appears to Flash Gun on Livestream, Suspended from Team Activities

Following his March Instagram Live gun flash, Morant received an eight-game suspension.

Ja Morant, a star for the Memphis Grizzlies, appeared to show a gun in a video on Instagram Live on Saturday night while he was riding with friends.

In the video, Morant and some friends can be seen dancing while she is in the backseat. He then appeared to pull the gun out to display it for the camera, and at that moment, the companion holding the phone pulled it away from the Grizzlies point guard and turned it toward his shoulder.

On social media, a picture purporting to be of Morant brandishing the weapon went viral.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Grizzlies for comment, but they didn’t respond right away. To Fox News Digital’s request for comment, Morant’s representatives did not immediately respond.

Morant was barred from all of the Grizzlies’ activities.

“We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information,” The Athletic was informed by NBA spokesperson Mike Bass.

As a result of numerous reports accusing him of wrongdoing, Morant has been in the news throughout the season. It all came to a head earlier this year when he was seen brandishing a gun in a Denver nightclub, though he was never charged in any of the incidents.

In March, he received an eight-game suspension and checked himself into a stress management clinic.

The off-court incidents may have caused a distracted team, according to Morant, who acknowledged this after the Grizzlies were bounced from the playoffs.

“I’ve just got to be better with my decision-making,” By way of ESPN, Morant stated last month. “Basically, that is all. We as an organization were largely impacted by off-court issues. Just a little bit more restraint.”

The NBA investigated the incident and found that no “individual threatened others with a weapon.”

After punching a teen last summer, according to a police report from March, Morant allegedly pulled out a gun.

In the report by The Washington Post, Morant allegedly punched the teenager in the head “12 to 13 times” in a pickup basketball game at Morant reportedly entered his home after the altercation and came out holding a gun in his waist and his hand on the weapon.
