Lou Williams, a seasoned guard who has played in the NBA for 17 years, has made the decision to retire for good.

On his Instagram page, the 36-year-old made the announcement that he was quitting basketball. It was done on Father’s Day.

Williams was selected with the 45th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, and he is best known for his role as a star player. As a result, in 2015, 2018, and 2019, he earned three NBA Sixth Man of the Year awards.

Williams played in 1123 games for the league, scoring 13.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 41.9% of his shots. Lou-Will started just 122 of his 1123 career games.

He had his best season in 2017–18, averaging 22.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Over the course of his 17-year career in the league, Williams has represented six different organizations: the Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, and Houston Rockets.
